Subhayan Kundu scored 7.5/9 to win 5th Sant Adria Open 2023. He finished a half point ahead of the competition. Our very own ChessBase India Head, FI Niklesh Jain's better half, WIM Franco Valencia Angela (COL) scored 7/9 to secure second place. David Jose Caballero Marrugo (COL) and Luca G Tessiore (USA) scored 6.5/9 each. They secured third and fourth place according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund of the tournament was €3000. Top three prizes were €700, €400 and €300 along with a trophy each respectively. This was Subhayan's third rating tournament triumph of the year. It was organized by Club Escacs Sant Adria at CFA Sant Adrià de Besòs in Barcelona, Spain from 11th to 18th August 2023. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
